The Northern Space Consortium has announced that existing Board member Bob Morris has been appointed Chairman. The change is as a result of previous Chairman Alan Cross taking up the newly created role of European Space Agency Regional Ambassador for North West England and North Wales.
Bob Morris commented “I feel very honoured and privileged to become the Chairman of the Northern Space Consortium. This is a very exciting time for the UK Space Industry with the announcements of Spaceports, several new launchers, new products and services not to mention the vast amount of data available for software developers. There are now many great opportunities for businesses big and small and we are committed to seeing that the North West including North Wales plays its part in this. On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Alan for all his enthusiasm and hard work over the last few years. Alan was one of the original founders of the Northern Space Consortium and latterly has been its Chairman and over this last period the influence of the Consortium has spread, we have developed our network and been part of many important Space events including very recently organising the first one day Space Conference to be held at the Liverpool International Business Festival. We wish Alan every success in his new job.
The Northern Space Consortium is very pleased that the importance of the North West and North Wales in space has been recognised by the creation of this new role by the European Space Agency. This new role will open up lots of new opportunities and we look forward to a successful business relationship with Alan in the future.”
